In recent years, Japan and Pacific Rim countries have suffered extreme
damage from debris flow, landslides and floods caused by heavy rains and
big typhoons expected due to the effects of global warming. Earthquakes
and volcanic eruptions also frequently cause large-scale, complex natural
disasters, posing a threat to human lives and properies, as well as to
the livelihoods and socio-economic infrastructures.
People living under the risk of multi natural hazards such as heavy rains, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions need to adapt to and coexist with these risks. Therefore, it is very important to share the technologies, experiences, and lessons learned from these natural hazards, as well as to deepen study and research for the future disaster risk management, and to proactively disseminate appropriate countermeasures to the people in the world.
Therefore, the Pacific Rim INTERPRAEVENT 2026 will be held in Hokkaido,
gathering engineers, researchers, and government officials from around
the world under the theme of "Risk management for multi natural hazards
